Multis within Satellite consist of one or more patches. Patches usually contain one drum loop, or even an entire bass sound that can be played across the keyboard. In a Multi, you can layer several patches to thicken up the sound. In the case of drum loops, you could have a kick loop, snare loop, and hi-hat loop making up 3 different patches. This would allow you individual control over each part, where you could assign effects like a compressor to the kick loop, a room to the snare loop and a hall to just the hi-hat loop while playing all the parts in unison.
The number of Multis in Satellite is usually lower than the number of patches. This is because most Multis contain more than one patch, giving you more sound layering options.
