Default Dragging Files into Satelite Pro

As I was working with Satelite Pro, it occured to me that it would be nice to have the ability load Multis, SoundBlocks, or Patches by dragging them directly onto the MIDI/Patch/Loop list located at the lower left of the MAIN view or the keyboard section in the KEYMAP view. It would also be especially nice to drag samples to a particular key in the KEYMAP view. And once there, have the ability to control the velocity parameters as well.

If nothing else, just having the ability to drag samples onto the KEYMAP would be great!

All the best,

Hi Brad,

We've been told by our developer that it's not possible to do any drag and drop features without doing some special coding, or "wrapping the code around" the exsisting framework. This due to the VST spec. I totally agree that it would be nice to have this type of functionality. I'm not exactly sure how we'd achieve it though. It is something we've all been wanting.

Thanks,

Hi Mike,

I think the best solution regarding this would be to have the ability to access a browser inside the application. You cuold then drag the multis, soundblocks or patches from the internal browser to the MIDI/Patch/Loop list or drag samples to the Keymap *all within the application*. Sample players like HALion 3 and Kontakt all have this browser function and, it seems logical that this would be within the VST spec if the browser is located inside the application as opposed to dragging files from any window in the OS to the Satelite Pro window.

Thanks,

Thumbs up Re: Dragging Files into Satelite Pro

I agree that a feature of this nature- tha ability to "drag samples to a particular key in the KEYMAP view"- would be very useful in Satellite Pro!

The other idea of being able to drag and drop Satellite patches/multis from within the browse screen to a Satellite part- that sounds useful to me as well. Not only for developing SoundBlocks, but for the end users as well.

I have used HaLion and enjoy this feature- so it is correct that this is not a VST plugin limitation? Possibly with some clever coding(and/or re-coding) these features could be added on to future versions/revisions of Satellite Pro.

Cheers,
Marcus
