Drum Loops

New technology has changed the way that we do things everyday. The rise of the personal computer and other electronic devices and resources have made things easier and, in some cases, even a little more complicated. Even in the music business, this phenomenon can be seen and with the advent and advances in electronic music creation. The changes are fresh and interesting, and has made the process of creating excellent music even more accessible.
One of the basic things that are often used in electronic music editing or creation is the music loop. Whether it is drum loops, melody loops or any other kind of loop, they are used in many different ways. A music loop is a section of music that is repeated continuously in a song or composition. In the case of drum loops this could be a certain beat on the drum or drums that is repeated throughout the song or composition. Loops are not just a sample of music or sound that is played in the composition. What makes a loop, well a loop is the fact that it is repeated over and over again throughout the composition or song. This can be done for various reasons.
Loops like drum loops can be used to make the electronic creation of music easier and simpler. More often, however, it is used to create specific effect of some sort in the song or composition. The method has been used for ages by many different artists from as far back as the Beatles and even some time before them. Originally, the loops were on tapes that were played along with other samples and sounds to create the specific effect that the artist required. Today, however, there are sophisticated programs available that can mix, cut and edit loops and other bits of music together in a matter of minutes. It has become so easy that almost anyone can create a song or composition from bits and pieces of other music.
This new generation of music creation has brought along with it a new business to the market as well. Companies like Sample Base now spend their time collecting music and audio samples for things like drum loops. They then sell these samples to the creators of music so they can create their own songs and compositions from it. The electronic spread of information on the Internet makes it easy for a client to receive the sounds that they need almost instantaneously after they have paid for it. The slog of finding just the right sound has all been but removed.
Few people would have believed that you could buy drum loops from a computer a few decades ago. Certainly the pioneers of looping methods would have been very skeptical. Technology has touched every part of our lives in some significant way and not even the music industry, that some would consider sacrosanct, has escaped untouched by the advances. New technology, faster computers and downloadable audio files have made music even more accessible than it ever was.
